Turning things inside out, every thing that is ever done has always an intention, our minds are the instigators that fuel the initial sparks. Take 'Compassion', for instance, the emotion is associated to socially desirable episodes of drama. No one tries to find out who conceptualised it in the first place; so then perhaps it  evolved as a means of covering the cracks that do occur, when one is paying no worthy attention. The act is not minus 'Passion' as present in the word itself, as to realise that well humans are such a bright bunch straight out of the gene pool. The urge to appease, in order to recieve gains from our, very acts that ooze with selflessness, the task of keeping up traditions of a natural order; stating a code of conduct, thereby wanting and needing slavery for the feudalist ones. It would be so wrong to point fingers, would it not? Well let leave each Dictator to his own, while each is the Soverign of his own casttle. Where all that one feeds on is free will untill the stock runs dry and there is nothing left, but the glorious chance to convert, to change and adapt,  much like a religion that does not deliver in this ever expensive world.
